1 sep 2013 sunday (serendah visit) with mum

So glad to find out that mum is joining us for the "chea fang".  Baby sitter's granddaughter (Wan Yee) also joining us.  Was initially worry that Tong may not join as she was down with fever on Thursday.  Probably she is fated to join us as she fully recovered on Sunday.

Had breakfast with mum and Wan Yee at "222" restaurant.  Soon we reached Tzu Chi centre around 8.35am.  We were slightly late as they were about to start the activities.  Last month we did not had this activity, found it quite refreshing.  Fortunately mum and Wan Yee looked like they were enjoying themselves.

Few see cheas and see shiong gave talks.  Soon, after light breakfast, we left for Serendah.  This round, we joined the more senior see shiong to Serendah.  We visited 3 families.  The first family happened to be an old couple with 10 kids.  Wife who turned 78 years old had dialysis starting this year and being cared by 83 year old husband.  Both looked healthy despite their advanced age.  The grandma was hospitable and happy to see us.  Mum chatted with her away whilst we tried to engage grandpa.   Tzu Chi came in to help with dialysis treatment.

The second family we visited just moved in to a flat.  Simple environment.  Apparently their house was burnt down and they stayed in the community centre till 2 days ago.  The compensation received was used to pay for the rental and simple house utensils.  The lady had 3 kids and husband had ran away.  her mum stayed with her.  Pity the grandma as she had difficulty waking up after sleeping on the floor.  She had lost her spectacle during the fire. Tzu Chi came in to pay transport fee for the kids.  The second daughter had some sickness and needed to seek weekly treatment from the hospital

IT took us sometime to find the third family.  i really doubt i m able to locate the 3rd family should i go alone.  There are 6 kids in the family and the eldest 3 had to find work to support the family.  The father suffered from partial stroke whilst mum sold praying flowers at nearby stall.  Tzu Chi supports them in transport fee.

We had lunch at a local coffeeshop and mum bought some tasty snacks.

She looked happy and willing to join me next month.  As we walked the path, we learnt to be grateful for what we have.  seeing the families especially the last 2 families made me ponder and contemplate.  life is full of suffering and impermanent.  do what is right and not to wait.  really fortunate to be able to join the more experienced shee shiong and learnt much from them.

Am thankful for the opportunity offered and thanked the 3 families for opening their arms to us.  Hopefully one day they would be able to reciprocate the loves received and help others.
