Cameron HighLand (25-27 Nov 09)

25 Nov 09

Went to Immigration in the morning thinking of applying for passport replacement but left in disappointment as figured out that it would take too long to get it done. We then decided to head straight to CH. Reached Bidor in the afternoon for “Duck Mee” plus tea. Kwee Yap, father and me had "duck mee". Mum had "chap fun", she enjoyed her choice very much. Kids had wan tan mee. Tea and coffee were really nice though it were served on plastic cups.
We used new highway which is supposedly to be better. On the way stopped by a market to buy sweet corn. Checked into our 3 rooms apartment at Royal Lily (Tanah Rata) around 3 pm. Business much have been very good for them as they have yet to put up the bed sheets. Had home cooked dinner at apartment. Went to Pasar Malam at night. It was freezing out there. Sean and Ye had a merry round ride with Kwee Yap. Boys really enjoy the old fashioned theme park. We bought more sweet corn + sweet potatoes. That night we steamed sweet corns and heated up soup.

Head up to Tanah Rata, tea boh plantation early morning. Took a long journey and headed up to MNC( M’sian Nature Centre) which we later found out that its meant for members. Drove down to their restaurant for an English breakfast. Parents did not enjoy their breakfast and fortunately nasi lemak which arrived half an hr later saved our day. Unfortunately there is no factory tour conducted that day. We found out that there are 3 tea plantations in CH of which the one at Sungai Palas meant for tourists and provides breathtaking view. However all is not lost as we managed to trek up to hill top to view tea plantation at Tanah Rata. We went to Cactus Valley, paid entrance fee to view, cactus, apple, pear, strawberry, nice flowers before proceeding to strawberry park where we had light snacks on strawberry. Had lunch at Brinchang before returning to apartment. We visited Suan's apartment which is a stone throw away. Its was a better unit as it was newly renovated. After checking and comparing the rooms , we went back to our unit to get ready for dinner.

At night, we joined Suan’s family for steamboat dinner. We went to same Pasar Malam again and bought some shirts for kids and Kwee Yap and more sweet corns.... Ern Ye had his strawberry coated with chocolate again, his favourite!!!

Had breakfast at one of the Chinese eatery before proceeding to Boh Plantation at Sg Palas. The view is indeed very nice , the only regret is factory closed due to Raya Haji. We are joined by Suan and her big family, haha. All managed to trek up to the restaurant. We truly enjoyed the trip. Stopped by a small market near Equatorial Hotel again before proceeding back to Tapah for lunch. Ye had his chocolate ladden strawberries again. Kids slept thru the journey back.

Tong Tong

Tong Tong started crawling earlier than the 2 brothers. At 5months can inch her way forward and at 6 months can crawl and sit by herself. This small girl never fail to amaze me. I still remember how Ye will lie at bouncinette playing by himself till he's almost 1 year old. He was truly a good baby, playing his fingers all the time. As for Sean, he was lucky as grandparents truly dot on him and all my siblings are unmarried yet then. Hence everyone take turn to carry him around haha.

Day Trip to Sungkai Hot Spring – 24 August 2009

After dropping off milk at Tong’s babysitter, we headed for dim sum breakfast at Manjalara. The journey to Sungkai took us slightly more than 1 hour using Sg Buloh highway.
Thanks to clear signage, we reached Sungkai before 11 am. We had a whale of time, seemed that Felda did maintain the place well. Unfortunately the mountain river side is under maintenance. After a dip in the hot spring, we headed for lunch and later returned to egg-boiling area for egg session. Had ice-cream before returning to our cars. The kind tram driver fetched us to our car. Kids later returned to the board walk before heading back to Sri Damansara.
What a day! Watched movie “UP” at Kepong cinema at 8.30 pm.
